Information for all Senior Secondary Classes

Hi Parents and Guardians,

 

Welcome to the Online platform for Senior Secondary at Casino Christian School.

 

We acknowledge that the HSC is already a stressful time for students and their families and this situation we find ourselves in has only added to this stress. Our aim is to hopefully alleviate some of that stress through this online platform. We also want to reassure you that your child will still be getting a quality education during this time. Please understand that all our staff are working hard to ensure your child does not miss out on anything they need to complete their HSC.

How we will deliver the curriculum to our on and off-campus students.

 

Google Classroom

​

All senior classes will be utilising Google Classrooms. Students have been sent invitations to join their classes. Once students have accepted the invitation, parents and guardians can then be sent invitations. This means you will be able to keep track of your student's learning. If you have not yet received the invitations please contact the relevant teacher ASAP.

Zoom Lessons

​

All Year 11 and 12 classes will be taught in person to students still attending our campus but each lesson will also be live streamed via ZOOM. This will enable students to log on virtually and participate in an interactive way. 

​

You will need to download the Zoom app if you have not already done so or simply join a meeting online. See the buttons below.

​

Guidelines for using Zoom:

​

  • Students do not need to sign up for account. They can simply join a meeting using the code and pin provided to them each lesson by their teacher.

​​

  • The lessons will be streamed according to the regular school timetable. Please look closely at the timetable below and make sure you are logged on and ready to go at the start of each lesson.

​

  • Students using Zoom will need to be appropriately dressed (not pyjamas) and in an open place in their house such as living rooms, dining tables, offices, but no bedrooms. 

​

CCS Youtube Channel

​

Our school now has a youtube channel. As teachers make instructional videos they will be uploaded and accessible to teachers and students. You will be made aware of these video via email or through Google Classroom as they are posted. 

​

Emailing and Phone Calls

​

You will continue to receive regular emails from teachers and school staff. Email remains a great form of communication between home and school. Teachers will be available during regular school hours to correspond with you and help work through any questions and academic concerns you may have. Please be mindful that:

​

1. Teachers do their utmost to reply to emails promptly, but as they also have face to face learning commitments they are not always available. 

​

2. It is expected that parents, teachers and students show courtesy, understanding and respect when emailing and calling. 

​

3. Where possible it is requested that emails be sent during office hours 8am - 6pm on weekdays as this is when teachers are best able to reply. If you email outside this times please understand that you may not get a response till regular operating hours.
