New Uniform Approved – Exciting Changes Ahead!

We’re thrilled to announce that the board has officially approved the new school uniform! While some small details may still be refined, the overall design is now set.

Some of the key highlights include:
✅ A simplified, modern design
✅ Skirts with built-in bike pants for added comfort and practicality
✅ Reversible house-colour hats, making it easier for students to show their house spirit

To give parents a closer look, we’ve included a look book showcasing the design. Samples are on their way and will be displayed in the office once they arrive—feel free to drop by and see them in person!

The uniform will start to be rolled over from 2026, and we’ll share more details soon about the transition process and roll over. Please be assured that there will be plenty of notice and time to change over.

A huge thank you to everyone for your feedback and support throughout this process. We’re so excited to share this new design with you all and are looking forward to receiving our samples.

Pi Day Activities 2025

March 14th was pi day at CCS and around the world as this date is sometimes written as 3/14 for 3.14 (the most common abbreviation for pi). In the lead up to pi day the students completing Naplan exams were shown some short videos about the history and meaning of pi as well as hearing the pi song. On pi day the school was a hive of activities. Primary classes held colouring in competitions, made paper chains which were colour coded for the different digits of pi, or completed other activities involving circles like the circumference and diameter weaving in Year 4. There was a competition to see who how many digits of pi students could recite, activities to find your birthday date in the sequence of pi digits, in class demonstrations of pi (3 and bit diameters will fit into the circumference) and Year 9 had the opportunity to do some pi craft after their Language Conventions paper for Naplan. Year 10 and one Year 8 class took pi outside to form a circle with pi in it and to form 3.14 – check out the photos!. Finally, Year 12’s organised a sale of pies at lunch and a few Maths teachers sported brand new pi shirts. It was fun all around.

Pi recital winners out of the 44 entrants!

First with 100 digits, Grace Frahm
Second with 95 digits, Lilly McLeod
Third with around 60 digits, Holly McLeod
Elijah Filmer with 27 digits
Everyone who could recite 10 or more digits earned a prize and quite a few students learned the required 10 digits to get their lolly.
These students all beat the Maths teachers who topped out at 21 digits…BUT…Nasa says we only need 16 digits for accuracy with their LARGEST of circles for the orbits of explorer vehicles far far away in outer space!
The Primary School winner was Connor Vaughan from Year 5 with 11 digits correct – Massive effort!
Special mention goes to our youngest entrants: Matilda and Tom.
