As we begin the final term of 2026, there is much to reflect upon, celebrate and look forward to with hope and anticipation.

This term brings a number of exciting developments and milestones across our school community.

  • Growing our leadership team: We have launched our ‘change for growth’ management restructure, and we especially welcome Mr Frahm into his role as Head of Primary and Mr Juozapaitis as Head of Secondary. Through this restructure, we have also been able to strengthen leadership across our Secondary Faculties, as well as building our Welfare and Wellbeing teams. Our renewed leadership team brings a wonderful combination of experience, enthusiasm and a shared commitment to seeing our students and school community flourish.
  • Building projects and improvements: This term will see the completion of the new covered walkway in A Block and visitor bathroom facilities located near the MPC, along with a number of other improvements to our classrooms and learning spaces. These developments are another positive step in our program of updates and improvements to benefit our students, staff and community.
  • HSC examinations: Our Year 12 students have commenced their HSC examinations, marking the final chapter of their school journey. While this brings the conclusion of one significant stage of life, it also opens the door to new opportunities, experiences and possibilities. We wish them every success as they take these next steps.
  • Year 10 transitioning to senior studies: Our Year 10 students are also preparing for an exciting new chapter. In Week 6, they will commence their Senior elective subjects, taking their first steps into what is the culmination of their schooling journey.
  • Looking towards summer: With summer just around the corner, there is also the anticipation of the special events such as our Primary and Secondary Celebrations and Year 6 Graduation.

Each of these things gives us reason to be thankful and hopeful. They represent growth, new beginnings, opportunities and the excitement of what lies ahead.

Yet, as a Christian school, we are reminded that our greatest source of hope is not found in changing circumstances or the promise of what is to come, but in the unchanging hope of the Gospel.

The conclusion of this term also brings Christmas. As we consider exciting things to come, we don’t want to miss the opportunity to reflect on this – the most extraordinary gift of Jesus. In Jesus, God came down to us, meeting us in our greatest need and offering us something far greater than temporary happiness or optimism. Through Him, we are offered the hope of peace with God, peace in our hearts and peace with one another.

Romans 15:13 reminds us:

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”

What a wonderful reminder that true hope is not simply wishing for good things to come, but trusting in the goodness and faithfulness of God.

So, as we begin this final term with enthusiasm and anticipation for all that lies ahead, may we also take time to reflect on the many blessings we have received, to be grateful for the community we share, and to remember the lasting hope we have in Jesus.

Operation Christmas Child – Spreading Joy Through Giving

Our Primary and Year 8 SRC representatives came together to help pack and prepare our Operation Christmas Child boxes, demonstrating kindness, teamwork and a wonderful spirit of generosity. Working together, students carefully organised the donated items and prepared the boxes, knowing that each one would bring joy and hope to a child in need.

It was lovely to see our student leaders embracing this opportunity to make a positive difference in the lives of others and putting the values of compassion and service into action.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who has contributed donations so far. Your generosity and support are greatly appreciated!

Jump Rope for Heart – Let’s Get Skipping!

CCS Primary students are jumping into action this term with Jump Rope for Heart.

Throughout the program, students will practise their skipping skills, take on weekly challenges and enjoy getting active with their classmates, while raising funds for the Heart Foundation.

Families are encouraged to register their child at jumprope.org.au/parents, select Casino Christian School and set up an online fundraising page.

We’ll finish with our Jump Off Day on Friday 27 November, celebrating students’ efforts and showcasing the skipping skills they have been learning.

Thank you for supporting our students as they skip, have fun and make a difference!

Byron Bay Film Festival – Year 9 & 10 Art, Drama & Photography

Lights, Camera, Inspiration! Year 9 and 10 Students Head to the Movies

Lights, camera, action! On Wednesday 21 October, our Year 9 and 10 Photography and Digital Media students joined their Art and Drama peers for an exciting trip to Lismore Cinemas to experience a selection of standout films from the Byron Bay International Film Festival.

This was a fantastic opportunity for our budding filmmakers, artists and performers to step beyond the classroom and immerse themselves in the world of professional filmmaking. From creative cinematography and compelling storytelling to powerful performances and innovative digital techniques, students were able to discover what makes great films truly memorable.

We hope this inspiring cinematic experience will spark fresh ideas, broaden creative horizons and encourage students to see the possibilities for their own future projects. Who knows? They may even discover the inspiration for their next big production!

Our students represented the school with pride at Zone Futsal on Tuesday 20 October. Across all teams, there was plenty of determination, teamwork, sportsmanship and skill on display. Congratulations to all players and coaches on a fantastic day of competition!

Primary Girls

Seven girls from Years 5 and 6 travelled to Woolgoolga to compete in Zone Futsal. The team recorded two narrow 1–0 losses, a 1–1 draw and a tough final match. Throughout the day, the girls showed fantastic spirit, encouraging one another and maintaining their smiles and positive attitudes. Well done to all seven girls for their effort, resilience and sportsmanship!

Primary Boys

Our Stage 3 Boys Futsal team showed great determination throughout the competition, bouncing back from two tough opening games to secure two hard-fought wins. Jasper and Hudson made some excellent saves in goals, while the whole team demonstrated positive attitudes, neat passing, good movement and outstanding teamwork. Although they didn’t bring home a trophy, the boys finished the day with plenty to be proud of. Well done to all players for their effort, fair play and sportsmanship!

Year 7 & 8 Girls

What a fantastic day for our Year 7 & 8 Girls Futsal team! After a 0–0 draw in their opening game, the girls regrouped to secure a 3–1 win before narrowly losing their final round game 3–2. Their determination continued through the semi-finals, culminating in a nail-biting penalty shoot-out. Our amazing goalkeeper, Mikayla Hartley, scored the winning goal to secure an impressive 3rd place overall! The girls showed outstanding teamwork, resilience and skill development throughout the day. Well done, girls!

Year 7 & 8 Boys

The Year 7 & 8 Boys played some fantastic, closely contested games, finishing a close second in their pool. Although the play-offs didn’t go their way, the boys showed great determination, teamwork and sportsmanship, finishing the competition in 4th place. Well done, boys, on a strong team effort!

Year 9 & 10 Girls

The Year 9 & 10 Girls had a fantastic day, finishing second in their pool after a series of closely fought games. In the semi-final, the girls led 1–0 for most of the match before being held to a draw and narrowly losing 3–4 in the penalty shoot-out. They bounced back brilliantly, winning the bronze medal match 5–0 to finish 3rd overall! Congratulations to the team on their resilience, teamwork and well-deserved podium finish.

Year 9 & 10 Boys

The Year 9 & 10 Boys represented the school with pride, showing great effort and determination throughout the competition. The team continued to develop their skills, build their teamwork and support one another across the day. Well done, boys, for your commitment and positive attitude!

Congratulations to all our futsal teams! We are proud of the way our students represented the school, supported their teammates and demonstrated determination, teamwork and sportsmanship throughout the competition.
