Introducing Miss Melanie Young

Hello Casino Christian School,

I’m thrilled to be joining your team as a teacher in 2024, and to meet my amazing students. I’m so excited to meet you all and share in the excitement of a learning journey together. I am originally from the cozy town of Wainuiomata in New Zealand, and I now live in Petone, just a short stroll away from the beach, where I spend many delightful moments. I became a Christian when I was eleven years old attending a youth group at the Wainuiomata Baptist Church. My faith has been a significant part of my life ever since.

When it comes to music, Taylor Swift is my all time favourite singer, followed closely by Broadway soundtracks. I have a passion for musicals, with ‘Matilda’ and ‘Hairspray’ holding special places in my heart. Being a ‘pink lady’ in my local theatre company alongside my best friend Hannah, is one of my cherished memories. I also used to be a competitive rock and roll dancer and I’d love to rekindle that interest again.

I love cooking and creating delicious dishes to share with my friends, who mean the world to me. The beach is my happy place and I adore swimming in the sea. Crafting is also a joy for me- making cards, scrapbooking, and painting are some of my favourite creative outlets, as well as writing poems and fictional stories. I’m so excited not only to meet you all, but also to share my faith and the joy of Jesus with you all. I’m so excited for a fantastic year in 2024.
