Year 12 Graduation Reflection

At our Year 12 Graduation, we reflected on the wisdom of King Solomon in the book of Ecclesiastes. Solomon was one of the wisest and richest kings in history, yet after pursuing wealth, pleasure, knowledge, and power, he concluded:

“When I surveyed all that my hands had done and what I had toiled to achieve, everything was meaningless, a chasing after the wind” (Ecclesiastes 2:11).

His words are a reminder that the things of this world—success, fame, money, possessions—cannot bring lasting contentment. Without God, they are simply “chasing after the wind.”

In Ecclesiastes 3 Solomon also wrote:

“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens… a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance” (Ecclesiastes 3:1, 4).

For our graduates, this next season of life will hold both great highs and difficult lows. But true peace and meaning are only found in Jesus Christ. As He said:

“I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full” (John 10:10).

To our Year 12s: don’t waste your life chasing after the wind. Build your life on Christ. In Him you will find a joy, peace, and hope that no circumstance can take away.

Congratulations, Year 12 Class of 2025. May you go forward with courage, with hope, and with Christ at the centre of it all.

Yours sincerely,

Faith Hull

Uniform Update

We are pleased to share the pricing details for our new school uniforms, allowing families to plan ahead. Please note, there will be a two-year transition period during which students may continue to wear the current school uniform.

Although the website address and QR code are now available, the online store is not yet open for purchases. We will notify families as soon as orders can be placed through the site.

Please note that the Uniform Shop will not be holding stock on campus. All purchases will be made directly online. However, a full range of sample sizes will be available at the Uniform Shop, with regular fitting days scheduled to assist families in selecting the correct sizes.

BITE Size Cookie Fundraiser!

One of the ways the P&F are helping to raise money this term is with our Bitesize Cookie Fundraiser.

Here’s how it works:

  • There are 15 individual boxes of cookies in each box to sell for $5 each, so when you sell them all, that’s $75.

  • Once you have sold all the cookies in your box, put the money into the envelope provided with your name and return it to the school office.

  • If you sell your box during the holidays and would like another one to sell, please get in touch with Mrs Watson by email at awatson@ccs.nsw.edu.au, and she will arrange to provide you with another one.

If we sell all of the cookies, together we’ll raise $5,000! That money will go straight back to something special for the students here at school.

There’s also a prize!!  The family that sells the most boxes will win an amazing hamper.

So, let’s all do our best, have fun selling the cookies, and work together to reach that $5,000 goal!

Thank you.

Stage 3 Camp – Highlights!

Stage 3 students have had an incredible time this week at CYC Camp Drewe, Lennox Head! We’ve been blessed with brilliant weather and a wonderful few days of adventure, friendship, and new experiences.

Day 1 was the perfect start, with plenty of energy and excitement. Students loved archery tag and the low ropes course, working together and encouraging one another. After some down time in the beautiful camp setting and a delicious dinner, the evening concluded with a night walk along the beach under the stars—a truly memorable experience.

Day 2 was full of challenges and teamwork as students tackled raft building by the water. It was fantastic to see creativity, problem-solving, and lots of laughter as groups worked together to see if their rafts would float! More outdoor games and beach activities rounded out a fun-filled day.

Day 3 wrapped up camp with shared stories, reflection, and gratitude for new friendships and unforgettable experiences.

Congratulations  Madison!

Congratulations to Madison Steele in Year 12, who represented CCS at the CIS Secondary Athletics Championships!
Madi placed 4th in both the 200m and Long Jump – a fantastic achievement at such a high level of competition. While she was a little disappointed to just miss the podium, the experience was an incredible one and we are so proud of her hard work, determination, and sportsmanship. Well done, Madi!

Staff vs Students Soccer

Last week’s Staff vs Students Soccer Game was a fantastic event, filled with energy, teamwork, and plenty of laughter! Both teams put in a huge effort, but in the end, the staff claimed victory with a well-earned win. A big thank you goes to the parents who joined the staff team on the day—your support, skills, and enthusiasm made the game even more enjoyable. It was wonderful to see our school community come together, not just for some friendly competition, but also to celebrate connection and fun. We’re already looking forward to the next match!
